The Standard
For sport.
For life.
One standard.
Every program you've been handed. Every template you've followed. Every trainer who said “just do the modified version.” Most of it was designed for a different sport, a different body, or a different season of life, and adapted poorly for yours.
That's not a training philosophy. That's an afterthought.
Double Standard trains athletes and active adults for the game in front of them and for the decades after it. The strength, speed, and movement that win on the field are the same ones that keep you capable for life.

What We Believe
Performance and health
are the same job.
Strength, power, and clean movement make an athlete faster and harder to injure. They also keep a body strong, mobile, and independent for decades. We don't train one at the expense of the other. A youth player and a lifelong lifter are building the same thing at different points on the road.
“Modified” is not
a program.
You don't need a watered-down version of someone else's plan. A twelve-year-old midfielder, a college-bound sprinter, a forty-five-year-old lifter, and a new mom each need a program written for them from the first line. Different sports. Different bodies. Different life demands. That's how training should have been done all along.
For the women we train.
Your hormones are not a footnote.
Your cycle affects your recovery, your energy, your strength output, and your injury risk. Any program that ignores this is guessing with your body. We don't guess. We account for the full picture of female physiology — because that's not a special accommodation. That's baseline competence.
Postpartum is not a condition to recover from. It's a transition to train through. Your body didn't break — it did something extraordinary. The path back isn't a “bounce back” program. It's progressive, intelligent training from a coach who understands where your body is right now, including your core and pelvic floor.
That's why the women's health program is its own program: strength training for women, postpartum training, and pelvic floor strength training.
Injury prevention isn't a separate line item.
It's in every rep. Every warm-up. Every programming decision. Mary's background in rehabilitation means your body gets stronger and more resilient at the same time — not one at the expense of the other. You shouldn't have to choose between performance and longevity. And when an injury does happen, clearance from rehab is the start of the return to sport, not the end of it.
Confidence is the outcome.
Not the marketing.
We don't sell empowerment in a tagline. We build it in the gym. When your body does things you didn't think it could — when you win the race to a ball you used to lose, when you deadlift more than you weigh, when you run without pain for the first time in years — that's not motivation. That's evidence.
What We Reject
Six-week transformation challenges that prioritize photos over function.
Programs designed around men's physiology and handed to women with lighter weights.
"Strong is the new skinny" and every other slogan that reduces strength to aesthetics.
Hustle-culture coaching that confuses intensity with intelligence.
Generic templates with your name pasted at the top.
Rehab that ends at clearance and leaves athletes to figure out the rest alone.
The idea that postpartum women should "bounce back" instead of rebuild.
Any program that doesn't ask about your life before it asks about your lifts.

How It Works
No acronyms. No branded framework with a trademark symbol. Just four commitments we make to every person who trains with us.
We start with you.
Assess
Before we write a single rep, we listen. Movement screening. Training history. Injury background. Sleep. Stress. What your life actually looks like on a Tuesday. Training without context is guessing — and we don't guess with your body.
Your program is yours.
Build
Written from scratch. Not pulled from a library. Not borrowed from someone else's plan. Your sport and season, your recovery capacity, your schedule, your injuries, your goals, and for women, your cycle and life stage — all of it shapes the program. Because a plan that ignores who you are isn't a plan. It's a guess with formatting.
The work is the proof.
Perform
Progressive. Periodized. Adapted in real time. Whether you're chasing a personal record, rebuilding after pregnancy, returning from injury, or stepping into a gym for the first time — the program meets you where you are and moves you forward. Not someone else's forward. Yours.
We build for decades, not weeks.
Sustain
The goal isn't a transformation photo. It's a body that works for you — at 30, at 45, at 60. We build sustainability into every program because the best training isn't the kind that gets you results for six weeks. It's the kind you're still benefiting from next year.

“I got tired of watching women get handed programs that weren't designed for them. I got tired of hearing ‘just modify it.’ I got tired of trainers who treated female physiology like a sidebar.”
So I built something different. Not a franchise. Not a method with a trademark. Just a standard for how every athlete and every client should be trained, coached, and respected in the gym, starting with the women who were overlooked longest. I put my name on it because I believe in it. And I train every client the way I'd want to be trained myself.
